Queenswood House was purpose-built in 1910-12 as accommodation for the Principal of the City of Leeds Training College, its first occupant was Walter Parsons. From 2004 to 2010 the house was used as living and guest accommodation by Prof. Simon Lee, the then Vice-Chancellor.
Several items of historical interest, mainly concerning the predecessor colleges of the University, were found in Queenswood House. Anecdotally, collected during the tenure of Professor Simon Lee. The former Principals' House was used as guest accommodation for visitors to the University. This item formed part of a display of items associated with the history of the University. The provenance of this ephemera collection is not known for certain. Believed to be a duplicate set retained by the college while the bulk of records were taken elsewhere, these have now been deposited at the West Yorkshire Archive Service, Leeds.

Heath Grammar School is located in Halifax.The Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth at Heath, near Halifax. The school was founded by Dr, John Favour. The Favour family gave land for the school in Skircoat Green. Notable scholars were Laurence Stern, 1713-1768 (novelist and clergyman) and Sir Matthew Smith, 1879-1959 (Artist).

Heath Grammar School Admission book began in 1887 and covers a period of 21 years until 1908. the book records the name of the scholar, age at entry, the department entered (e.g. Junior, Senior), Address of parent, the profession of the parent, miscellaneous remarks and date of leaving the school.

Notes towards examinations covering a range of subjects, including Latin, History and English Grammar. The system of pupil teachers was the precursor of more formalised teacher training. In 1907 Leeds Education Committee formed the City of Leeds Training College to provide training for the city's teachers.

Needlework samples in presentation album with descriptions. leather binding with an inscription on front reading: Viscountess Canning from the Girls of the Hanover District Schools March 31, 1855. Suggests that Viscount Canning once owned the book. She was Queen Victoria's Lady of the Bedchamber until mid-1855. Through this contact, the Princess Royal may have obtained the book.
Book presented to Yorkshire Training College of Housecraft at the opening of Vernon Road on 24 February 1933 by Princess Mary, Princess Royal.

Contains Macaulay Hall residents name, visitors name and address and room number. The system of recording visitors names was ended in 1966 and entries in the book reflect this. Other Halls would have had a similar series of visitors books.
