Zonder titelPhotograph taken ca. 1912 upon completion of the new buildings on the Kirkstall Grange Estate to house the City of Leeds Training College.
Zonder titelIn 1914 the college buildings were commandeered by the military and designated the 2nd Northern General Hospital. This is an identical view from a few years earlier shown in BPL/22/1/1.
Composite postcard produced post WW1 by H. Burmiston of Leeds. Shows the newly built college buildings including the hostels and the Wesleyan College known at that time as Devonshire Hall. It was built in 1867-8 as the Wesleyan Methodist College. Some of the students from the City of Leeds Training College were based there during WW1 when the Beckett Park college buildings were being used as a Military Hospital, hence its inclusion on the postcard.
