Upon inspection in Carnegie Library and throughout the college a great many of Ernest Major’s core library of books were found that he had left to the college on his retirement. These were combined with similar books from the other college libraries to form the Carnegie Historical Collection.<lb/>In 1993 when the Library was being refurbished the Collection was transferred to Carnegie School where it was put in store. The collection was acquired by Archive and Special Collections in 2004.</p>
